FAQs
Find quick answers to common questions about our vertical gardens, and maintenance services, and learn more about how we work.
What is a vertical garden?
A Vertical Garden stands fundamentally apart from the industry-standard green wall. While standard panelled installations rely on geometric grids and limited plant palettes for mechanical uniformity, our design philosophy shuns straight lines and embraces the wild layered and species rich gardens.
This is made possible by our unique system: a recycled fabric system that is significantly lighter, uses no plastic or compost, and offers exceptional flexibility for long-term maintenance. This approach creates an organically styled, unique vertical garden, bringing rich biodiversity and the atmosphere of nature directly into urban spaces.
You cannot do a garden lighter.
How heavy is it?
25kg/m2
What makes the Daniel Bell Vertical Garden system different?
Our approach is defined by artistry, experience, and bespoke solutions:
- Natural expression: We shun straight lines, focusing on a wild, layered aesthetic.
- Bespoke design: We work on a fully custom basis, tailoring every element to your specific project needs.
- Deep experience: We bring 18 years of experience building vertical gardens in London, with a team that has a wealth of landscaping expertise.
- Sustainable materials: Where suitable for your project, we utilise our innovative recycled fabric system.
Can you provide a warranty?
We offer a dedicated Maintenance Package, which we highly recommend. Only under this package can we ensure the optimal health and longevity of your garden. We guarantee the life of the plants that are covered under our ongoing maintenance contract. There is a 12 month warranty which we can extend this every year.
How to maintain the vertical garden?
We integrate a closed-loop irrigation system directly into the vertical garden, which automatically recycles water and cares for the plants’ needs. If you opt for our Maintenance Package, we go further by:
- Regularly checking and fine-tuning the irrigation systems.
- Replacing any dying plants.
- Ensuring the wall thrives and looks its best under all conditions, year-round.
What is included in the installation price?
Since we work bespoke to each project, we deliver a full design and build package tailored specifically for your site. This custom approach allows us to organise the exact equipment required and keep costs as low as possible. How do vertical gardens support biodiversity?
Vertical gardens transform otherwise plain construction boundaries into attractive, green features. They can improve the appearance of a site, support local biodiversity, help capture airborne pollutants, and create a more positive experience for surrounding communities.
Can vertical gardens help with planning permission applications?
Yes. They can strengthen planning applications by demonstrating a commitment to sustainability, biodiversity, and visual improvement. We have successfully helped clients gain planning approval by incorporating vertical gardens into construction hoardings, signage, and advertising boards.
